Youth on Course

Golf Canada and our Provincial Golf Associations are proud to help provide youth with access to affordable golf through our partnership with Youth on Course. Golf teaches important social, mental, and physical skills and each round is filled with learning potential. Whether it’s early morning, after school or twilight hours, participating courses offer up blocks of tee times throughout the week for YOC members to play for $5 or less. We subsidize the cost of our members’ rounds to keep the price tag affordable, sending more families through our partner courses’ doors.

History

Born in 2006 out of the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA), Youth on Course began as the NCGA Foundation – a way to increase the accessibility and affordability of golf for Northern California youth. Within five years, the program was thriving and Youth on Course expanded opportunities for members to include a caddie program, paid high school internships and college scholarships.

It quickly became apparent that there was a huge demand for what we were doing outside of Northern California. The NCGA Foundation was re-imagined as a nationwide initiative to grow the game, and the name Youth on Course was born to establish a national identity. Youth on Course operates as a separate 501(c)3 that partners with state and regional golf associations across the country.

With the help of passionate and generous individuals willing to give their time, energy and money to benefit the lives of young people through golf, Youth on Course now serves more than 100,000 members in all 50 U.S. states and part of Canada who have access to play golf at more than 1,700 courses across the US and Canada. To date, Youth on Course has subsidized more than 1,000,000 rounds of golf.
